About CSU San Marcos

CSU San Marcos is a relatively new campus that used to be a poultry farm before it was transformed into a college. Despite being relatively small, it has a good Physics program and a smaller population, which allows for closer relationships between students and faculty. The campus has over 250 stairs and many engineering buildings have already been constructed, with plans for more in the future. CSU San Marcos offers multiple pathways for students, such as Computer Engineering (Starting this fall), Applied Physics, Math, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, etc. Additionally, there are many departments to choose from, including Physics, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, Math, Computer Science, etc. For those interested in STEM, there are several active clubs on campus, such as the Cybersecurity Club, Robotics, 3D Printing, Women in STEM, etc.

    • Is a 10 week summer program that provides students with an intensive research experience together with enrichment activities aimed at career development. It also helps preparation for graduate school

    • Incoming students get to work and research in the field of quantum mechanics and physics

it’s clear that CSU San Marcos has a strong STEM program, with a particular focus on physics, engineering, and computer science. The smaller campus size and active STEM clubs also seem to provide a supportive and collaborative environment for students.

In terms of career and academic opportunities, CSU San Marcos offers various programs such as the Summer Scholars Program and Quantum Bridge Program, which provide valuable research experience and career development. Additionally, the school seems to offer ample opportunities for research in various fields, from cancer cell research to meteorite research.
